when i bought my 79 3 yrs ago the motor had been rebuilt buy a fairly large vette rebuilder.a friend with a 77 was pulled over by mto last year and fined because his air pump was no longer on. looking at mine we have no air pump or cad convertors are we in big trouble here and should we be looking at getting this stuff put back on
I think if you have to do a emissions tests, then you are going to have to fix things up. Otherwise, I'm sure you are NOT going to be stopped on the road, unless you attract some kind attention.

79's do not need to have emission testing they are in the 20 year and older bracket. I'm at a lose as to why the MTO would ever be involved in the first place except for a safety standard issue. Emission's is not even stated on a safety check list for cars that old as far as I understand. Boy, the MTO would run out of tickets if they opened my 79 hood
