C6z feedback
Now that the dust has settled, the real reason I came on this site. Im going tomorrow to Autofourm...high end reseller of cars to see the C6z in blk/blk, and red/blk. Seems like 100k out the door will grab one of these.
Have searched for the consensus of pitfalls, but the data seems alittle limoited right now, maybe since its a new model not enough info to determine some issues.
Lets keep this thread on track, I do not want to modify, or rims, or tints...I want out of the factory as born. As for the prformance, havent been in one yet, but I could imagine, just to know the major differences that make this bette that the C5.
Before winter I was in a f430, and did travel over 300....feels very stable, but of course, very unlikely that I will see this type of speed even more than once. But the solidness and firmness, and comfort made it a pleasant drive. Does the C6 offer this type of driving style?
Or is it still very much the muscle car of yester year ? How is maintance ? This new engine in there, what short comings if any? Tranny.....any issues with the shifting ? Feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.
You would give you're nuts for a 430 ? Really, in f1 format it does drive and shift perfect compare to the 360, and 355.....it is impossible to manually shift faster than this new gear box there.
For the money in the 300k range, you are very close to F40 pricing, in Europe you can find examples of them with high mileage, and tracked in that price range, much more raw, but its disappointing knowing the f430 is quicker around a track.
FOr the 100k I was looking last year for a 355 (non f1), the ones I saw were rats (delayed service, many ownership changes) and when I heard of the new z6 and its improvements, and saw the stats, it now has come to the first of my fun list......only problem I struggle with on it,,,,is in 2 yrs its worth half...the damn depreciation on it is just eating me or else I would have had one already. The 355 will hold, drive for 3 yrs, and get same $$ for it...can' t really do that with the z06, it woul dhave be something I keep long term...I have thought of leasing and then give it back.
Some choices sometimes are not easy.

Once again the 550s are not factory backed like the Vette is in that series, but I fail to see how this helps me on a new C6z, as far as reality. What do you know about recalls ? Potential tranny issues, leather wear ? The new engine thats in there, does it burn a litre of oil every 500 kms, is the electrical system made by Lucas ?
I prefer the performance as an overriding criteria for choosing a car.
I'll treat you to a new MS C6z ride. I'll be picking up my new ride in the next couple of days.
I've driven my car already and it's a top-notch performer. I'm sure that it's promise of speed, power and fun factor will give me a big 10/10.
You might NOT be able to get a CDN. c6z easily though. Some American cars are coming north. Beware that they cannot be serviced in Canada before 6 months old or 12,000km.
Stay in touch.

Really ? How do they meet the CDN regulations for saftey then ? Are these converted cars ?
I will check with Wilson Nib tomorrow, they say they have availabilty and have delivered already.
Congrat on you're new wheels, enjoy in good health.
@Courtesy Chev, Steve Turner has a cdn RED c6z. (not sure if it's sold yet!) Very few around. Most are now sold.

I have 2 American Z06's available......
Yellow and Black Loaded....
If you're picking up the Z for 100k on the road that is a very good deal (but fishy).... I can sell the ones I have for 100K + Tax....
Right now you're only going to find American ones.... if you are seriously against that then you will have to go through this summer without one..... (from what I hear)
on the issue of the Ferrari.......
You're right about the depreciation factor it sucks ***.... if you have the liquid funds in your bank then buying the Z06 outright is not the most sound financial decision out there (unless you are keeping it for life)..... I am searching for a 1995 Acura NSX and the one I'm looking at has 31,000 km and I can buy it for $68,000.00 a Mint condition 95 vette is like $18-20 k... now immagine a ferrari.
so basically what I'm saying is.....
if keeping for life then buying the Z06 is not a bad idea....
if only interested in driving for 3-4 years.... Lease it...
if unsure about when to sell and want to come out on top go to California and find yourself a nice ferrari.....
hope this helped... good luck and let me know if you need any help...

Thanks, I am looking at red/blk to match other cars I currently have, but like the blk/blk better. Would be a tough call, but ultimately would go with blk/blk. I do not want a US car, Wilson Nibs says they do have a few coming in the next 2 weeks. If you have a blk/blk, and it is CDN this is the route I would want to go.
Please p/u you're PM.
Thanks.
good luck w/h that...ask them when delivery is!!haha Everyone has one for sale all the time..when they get you in the door and then they tell you it's another 5mths, then what!!
I just checked and there are 6 of them in there right now. Four of them have mileage on them (all under 1000km) so that means the car is sitting right there ready to be sold (plus they show the picture of the actual car, not just a GM press photo). Sure, it's used, but with under 1000km it's just as good as new, in all honesty. There is also a silver one at Landmark leasing which is brand new and says available for immediate delivery (is this Smook's car though?) The other one listed in there says it's going to be delivered in June.
