Rebuild or Replace
Hey Merry X Mass Blaw Blaw Blaw.(Humbug I say....lol)
Ok heres the deal Santa is paying for my rebuild.I was wondering do I rebuild or replace?I was told by Eagle engines I would get:
Pistons, Rods, bearings, Rad, Oil pump And so on.
It would give me 350 hp.
Cost approx.......$4000.00
Does this sound ok. If possible I would Like to do for less.

Questions:
Are you going with the original block or do you care?
Is it a 4 or 2 bolt block that you have?
Are you going to have to bore it more than 30 over to clean the cylinder walls up?
Did you know that you can get a crate motor with 350 bhp for less than that and I believe it's a 4 bolt?
Something I found odd it that they included a radiator with the rebuilt. Never heard of that combo.
Keep in mind there is still the labour to remove and replace your engine, and the going price for a well known shop to do that is over $1,000.00. Then there's fluids and such.
Something to think about while others chime in.
