Wasn't a very accurate test... They couldn't even have used the same car?

I think the point of the test was real world situation. How often do you see the exact same car driving behind itself? One on new tires and one on worn tires?

At 3 car lengths, the car behind should have been able to swerve away from the car in front with ABS. It didn't on the worn tires.

But they made no attempt to steer the car in the back. The guy never even tried to steer...

I know if we took my CTS-V and Windstar... drove the Windstar behind the V, and nailed the brakes in the V... Regardless of tires it'd be ugly.

Point I think is that we don't know who's in what behind us, or our loved ones in their cars.
The video shows that low tread depth seriously compromises braking ability, and in England at least they're trying to raise the minimum legal tread depth. So theguy behind (hopefully) has more rubber on the road.

It's all about stopping distance in the wet. Made me think a little. I'll be watching the rear view mirror more in the wet.

The actual braking and crashing segment did not seem right to me. There are no good angles but one shot where the cars look fairly level for them both supposed to be panic stopping. I want to see the steady side camera shot before I'll believe it was a true test.

Another problem is that I can find you some real POS tires that even brand new won't work nearly as well in the rain as another pair of good tires.

I call

Peter
