I've got a Bel-Tronics AD100 call display unit that can reject numbers and not allow blocked calls through. I picked it up a few years ago at London Drugs, not sure if you can still get it or not. It has an automated voice system - picks up and hangs up on them by it's self.

Hah! It's pretty sad when we need spam filters for our phone.

I guess with the proliferation of the internet comes free long distance dialing... which means global telemarketing. It's only a matter of time before we get calls from Nigeria.

he talks about recording the tone on your answering machine message, before the message. I haven't tried this yet.

I try something else. Interrupt them, tell them I'm glad they're working but I don't want to talk to them. Then hang up.
