I can understand them doing that. Since the 1st party is the villian, the 3rd party (MoneyMart) wants to hold the 2nd party responsible as the 1st party is scamming the 2nd party. Why should the 3rd party be responsible for the 2nd parties mistake.
And it's probably cheaper/easier to go after the 2nd party than it is the 1st party as the 1st party can show false ID unless both the 1st party and 2nd party want to scam the 3rd party.
