C7 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist 2021

Default I can't get no waves

I thought last year was bad, but this year has been worse. I've probably gotten two waves this whole season, people drive by totally oblivious to other Vettes, or they just don't care? This is regardless of generation. It seems like the wave is dead in Toronto.

Maybe you're just not doing it right.

Encountered 6 Corvettes this past weekend in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, and Grimsby area... a C3 (wave), a C4 (wave), a C5 (pulled up next to them and waved... they immediately looked forward as if I wanted to steal their car) and 3 C6's (nothing)... My wife laughs everytime I wave and they don't... I'm about ready to stop doing it to save the embarrassment!

Maybe I should start waving at 6cylinder Mustang's

Kovimo, it's a reflection on them--not you!

They don't know what they're missing. Ask Patman...

I still get them about half the time. Problem lately is the cold cruising weather, most people have roofs on and windows up so it's not as easy to see the wave or reciprocate. Don't take it personally and keep on wavin'. Eventually they will get the message.

Keep waving or we become part of the problem
In traffic I'm so busy staying away from people that I sometimes just don't see a vette. Lets assume that of others as well

Mr Pankaj, I remember last year was BRUTAL, I got no waves for the first month, then after it picked up. But this season has been pretty good, approxiamately an 83% return rate so far.
You still get the people that look at you like you're from Mars when you wave. I think their vettes should be taken away from them when they see you wave, but don't return it. It should be instinctual.

When I bought the Vette in 1975, if I remember correctly I got a wave on the way home from the dealership and had no idea what that was all about. Sure enough, the next time I drove it, another. I would have to say that I got a one about 99% of the time and it ended up being a game as to who would wave first. Since I haven't driven a Vette in 19 years, I've been out of touch with this whole :wave" thang. It would appear it's loosing it's touch.

It has been a slow start to the wave this season so far...

Athough, I drove the vette to work yesterday (potential CLM ) and crossed paths with another black C4 turning into his office driveway...we both kinda looked at each other with surprise and traded

Oh well...i know i wave...

Ya know, others could be suffering what I am - tendinitis. I practised my wave all winter while the Vette was in storage. I wagged my hand off trying all different styles. Now it's cruising weather and I can manage is a weak finger-lift from the steering wheel.

This is now but a dream -

I keep up with the Corvette wave, I also wave to Firebird and Camaro people too (I used to be one of them). I think a lot of new owners just "don't know" about the tradition.

Corvettes are more popular than ever in these parts and some people are still buying them because they think it has something to do with status.

There are 2 types of Corvette owner.

Good guys that wave, you know the type, courteous, law abiding, care about their car, surroundings, family, others.

Douche bags that don't. Generally its the young d1ckheads with the Paris Wannabe gf's at the side, nose up in the air, roaring around breaking the law then whining about bad LEO's.

Here's a wave from us Good Guys in Alberta

Maybe if you waved with more than 1 finger Pankaj. Just a thought.
