Default Column Lock Bypass in Alberta?

Has anyone had it done or found a supplier for the parts? Has anyone had CL tuned out, and if so who did it? The F***ing recall removes the lock but gives you fuel cut.

Thanks Bubba but I have a date with a dyno on Thursday so I am hooped if I have to import from Texas. Was hoping there was a distributer in Alberta. If I am lucky the tuner has a new enough version of HP that he can delete the CL but the reason the car is getting dyno work is for exhaust work that needs to be done before it goes there. If I miss this appt I am waiting for another 2-3 weeks and I can't do the exhaust work if it isn't driveable. This is my third C5 and it is the first time I can say that I am truly disappointed with a build quality issue. The GM steering lock recall is a half assed cheapskate effort.

Martin at AFI Performance in Edmonton fixed the fuel cut with his HP Tuners. Took 10 minutes because I was the first one he had done.

When the column lock error occurs, your car will not do more than 2mph. When it does, the fuel cuts and you stall. I had the recall done, so no locking steering wheel, but it just spontaneously errored me while I was trying to pul it into the garage.

Nuck: That is only an issue for automatics, correct?

I am not 100% on this, but in fact it is more of an issue for 6-speeds than autos....

Others may wish to confirm this.....

It is an issue for all C5 manuals for certain. And all automatics built before 2001(not sure of cutoff date but it is in the column lock thread in the C5 Tech forum))
