I just went to my tire guy, who I've delt with for years, wants 1400 bucks to put a set of Toyo tires on my Z. This is criminal.

Doesn't seem to bad to me. Tires for my avalanche are something like $1000 plus installation. $1400 for a vette is cheap. I wish the C6 supercar tires were that cheap.

I got a set of 4 BFG KDW 2s (18s, and 19s) from Corvettegarege.com a forum vendor in the states, just over $1000.00
Tirerack had them a little cheaper too.
Bottom line, no Canadian company can compete with US pricing, until they stop ripping us off, shop US.
Sad but true.

If you didn't buy your tires yet, check out 2koolperformance.com
They import their tires from their US affiliate so their prices are pretty much unbeatable in Canada. As a bonus, they're located in Prescott so shipping shouldn't be too bad for you. Not to mention the fact that you won't pay a cent in duty.

That's about what I paid for my 17 and 18 inch Toyo T1R's didn't think it was that bad, and they are very very good tires

order tires from tire rack, then got them sent to a shop in buffalo thats open 24hrs, and had them installed. i paid $1100 (aprox.) for PS2's all the way around. INSTALLED. well worth the drive.
i've got my own shop in mississauga, and at MY cost those 4 tires where going to run me close to $2000.

OK, my rears are $544 at tire rack each. Not worth the shipping or driving effort when I got them locally for ~$600 each. And I didn't see any other advertised place selling for much cheaper than that.
Sure, the stock sizes could be had A LOT cheaper but they won't fit my car.

Peter, go to Tirerack and look at other tires. IMO the PS2s are over priced. Have a look at the Pzeros or the Yoko - Advans.. Ive had both with my CCWs and they are cheaper. BTW, I prefer the Yokohamas. You can have all 4 shipped to your door for 2000 everything included

Oh, I know I could get a whole set with cost per tire cheaper but I had 1/2 tread left on the front PS2's and bald rears so I matched them up again. It was the cheapest way I found to get new rears on the car.
Next time I'll look again for a cheaper set.

Trustworthy enough to pre pay for tires and rims ahead of time?

I phoned them yesterday. All they have in stock is the Michelins. Didn't want these, so didn't even get a price. Guess I should have though, out of curiosity. Guy I talked to was Spence. 613 925 4015
