Friday was amazing and Saturday is still up in the air.

Some wicked fast cars there running the tree including a 5.80 jet car and an 8.90 civicand a host of other 8 second and 9 second cars. There are some junk 12-13 second cars which I didn't think were allowed to be there but there they were. luckily only a handful. What a blast.

I went today and after a 1 hour oil down delay they finally got through qualifing and came up with the 256 cars that were going for the $10,000. That 8.9 sec civic caught fire, hit the wall and oiled down the track again. Rain came as soon as they had his mess cleaned up.

Gates open tomorrow at 9:00 but I can't make the rain date.

I was there at 2:30 pm today, saw only 3 races and saw that damn Civic hit the wall and caught fire and than after 15-20 min's rain started, i said damn it spent 40 bucks on gas, 20 for ticket and again 20 for food stuff just to see only 3 races, but i had fun driving first time through that cayuga country rd.

tip of the day: if you're trying to avoid cops sitting on Kohler road, take the next exit left and then another left on Irish rd. and go back to Kohler rd. learned that years ago and still works i dont have front plate on mine, and cops were there on my way there and back, i did not take a chance and drove around them that route.

did they do any races after the rain ? i left at around 6pm, and they havent done any.

Hey Steve, it was nice meeting you too! Too bad the weather didn't really co-operate on Saturday and between the spin out with the Vega and the Civic it really put a damper on watching any racing but still fun none the less. It was actually really nice to see Cayuga that packed!!

On a side note however I find the city of Cayuga disgusting on how the police are handling all matters of sports cars. In a line of cars I watched them wave me through in the BMW, pull the guy over in the sports car and wave the truck through and again the sports car waved over. The Police were only targeting sports cars. That in my opinion is disgusting and probably worth investigating from a legal standpoint as now they are specifically profiling. I don't know if anyone on this board was pulled over and fined etc but it just pisses me off to no end which is why I haven't taken my car to Cayuga this year. It's wild to think how much money this event generated in taxes for the city of Cayuga but then the Police go and do a stupid bone head move like this which only serves to diminish once again the reputation of the Police force. I'm sure the direction came from above but at what point is enough enough. I am hoping somebody with legal expertise could pipe up and verify whether or not legal action can be taken against the city of Cayuga for this. I'll be the first to testify. This is the second time I have been waved through while sports cars get picked over with a fine tooth comb. If we don't stand up it will only get worse.

Steve, very nice to meet you Saturday as well.

I have to say, after hearing about Friday, i was looking forward to Saturday...a little disorganized at first, but then got going pretty good with quick set up and runs down the track..only a couple of runs impressed me though..after the Vega incident (which I missed cause I really needed food ) total snooze fest..took way to long to get the track ready again, disorganized again to get the cars lined up, plus the rain clouds started rolling in from a distance..

so I left and drove into the rain...hearing now, considering the Civic caused even more delay, so glad i did.

Hopefully if Pinks! does come back to Canada, will be better organized...

lauri

PS..how come I didn't get "profiled"...my Altima Coupe is a hot sports car....
