Speed cameras ?
When did we get "speed cameras" planted on our streets? I was on a
GPS forum downloading a file (red light camera file)to add to my
new GPS and I noticed they also had a file for speed cameras. I was not
aware we had cameras monitoring our speed. Anyone ever received
a ticket in the mail?

a couple of years back, (2003-2004) they were contemplating being able to ticket you for speeding on the 407 if your elaps time from on-ramp to off-ramp exceeded an average speed in excess. I haven't heard of it being followed through - but was paying attention as I was travelling from Port Hope to Dunnville every Monday & Friday. (But at that time they we're charging out of province plates either

Out here in Calgary, they're thinking of (or have already) rigged the red-light cameras to take pictures of speeders as well.
That's pretty nasty because the regular speed cameras are usually housed within a GMC Safari on the side of the road... and easy to catch.
Either way, I'll be moving out of this town in 6 weeks.
