Default Drive Clean...

What kinda mods are you guys getting away with come smog test time? Mine's coming up again in September, and this time I'm starting to worry. I've got a 228"/230" .576"/.595" 114LSA in her now as well as a speed density tune sans O2s, which melted. It runs great and doesn't smell to bad with the cats...What do you guys think?

BTW...good day, eh! Its my first time over here in the Canadian Section!

First welcome to canadian section, and to ur question:
It all depends how's the car condition wise? one of our member has mild H/C package (cam is so mild u barely hear any lope to it, has wide LSA) and yet he failed to pass smog, and than i know another member has similer size the cam u have and he passed.

The cam u have, it should pass smog but barely, change oil, pull spark plugs and check gap and put it back if they look good may eb just need cleaning up.

Make sure enogine is hot before he pulled for smog test.

GL.

I think the tune is a big factor in getting a pass. If you leave the car just the way it was with the cam then you might not pass.
Most tuners advance the timing, reduce engine temp etc and this does not help in getting a pass, some offer e-tunes if you
check around they might be able to help you out.
The tune can be adjusted to help you make it thru, higher RPM (think limit is 1200rpm idle), higher fan temp settings (to keep
the engine up to temp) and some fuel/timing settings. There are some good tuners on here that can chime in on this and have
before. I am running a 226/228 114LSA and will get tested next summer in Aug so will have something done up for that day.

2 month old update
She blew 1370ppm hc at idle, and CO was thru the roof. The tune was a little rich and locked in open loop SD...but holy fack.
