Anyone have thoughts on crossfire injection vettes...good, bad, easy to maintain or service...etc. can a C3 be lowered..what needs to be done who can do it and how much could it cost?
I have an 84 crossfire, that I've had for a little over 2 1/2 years. About a year ago I had a problem with the TPS sensor and replaced it. since then the only problem I've had is keeping enough gas in it to satisfy my passion to drive it.. ( get anywhere from 24- 28 MPG depends on my lead foot) Car has 126k miles on it and still can scare my wife..
My 1984 is 500,000 km. Never had problem with the crossfire. I drive 12 months a year. I it has always started even below -25 c.
On the engine side, I replaced connecting rod and main bearing, 2 lifters, timing chain and gear, damper, EGR valve, maf sensor, oil pump 3 times, and air filter xxx times :-)

Now my information is dated but here is what I used to do to lower a C3
Rear is simple. longer spring bolts, Check alignment as you lower this way on a C3 you will increase negative camber on the rear.
The fronts there are 2 ways both require removing the coils. One is cut coils ( I do not recommend this).
The second and best way I know is to buy the GM F-41 springs for a 65, 66 or 67. They fit and have a lower ride height. Current availability of these... I don't know.
If you go for coil cutting I have a set of front springs out of an L48 air car that have less than 30,000 miles on them.

You can get a longer rear bolt kit for adjustable ride height from Corvette Central for $39.99. It comes with 8" bolts, poly cushions, nuts, and washers, and is part #582059. Easy install! An hour max. I think I would try cutting the fronts. If you make a mistake or decide you don't like it, a new set is only 75 bucks. Stock front C3 springs are rated at 293 lbs. The F-41 C3 springs are rated at 550 lbs, as are the C2 springs, but the C2 springs could be shorter? Not sure... Don't forget the 4 wheel alignment!

I'll let you know...thnx.....how much would you want?
At first when I lowered mine, I used Vette Brakes & Products 550 springs in the front and 8" bolts in the back. I was able to lower the car a little over an inch. I wanted to go lower, so I switched to 10" bolts in the back, and converted the front to a composite mono spring like the back, which gives me almost infinite adjustments. My car is now down over 2", and I could go lower if I wanted to, but I only have about 3" clearance at my header collectors right now, so thats as low as I will go!!
