I just found evidence of mice under the hood of my DD which is parked in front of the garage the vette is in. I decided to check the vette and found that at least one mouse must have sat on top on the intake at some point. I thought having the hood open all winter would help deter them from crawling around the engine bay. I've never tried bounce sheets and was wondering if they work. Any specific place to put them? Does Irish spring bar soap work better or should you use both? The garage is not insulated/heated. thanks
On the advice of another member (DigitalZ) I bought a 2-pack of those "sonic" deterrent devices ($20 at Canadian Tire) They emit a high frequency sound that is supposed to keep mice away.
I tried pluging it in the house and our cat sure noticed it, so it does produce a sound of some kind.
Plug a couple in right near the Vette - good insurance

I have been using one of these sonic devices for a few years now and have never had a problem.

Anything to do with peppermint will keep the mice away they hate the smell of it go get some Essential oils from shoppers or natural health stores and put some drops on a bounce sheet smells nice for us not nice for the mice, and next spring plant some pepper mint plants in the garden and in the fall cut some of it and lay it in and around the car its free and the plants keep the mice away from the house year round.

Tried the peppermint-right next to the trap!Got 3 this week in my cold storage room.
I agree. Every Fall I put out a mouse trap baited with cheese or peanut butter along the wall in the shop, and scatter a little bird seed on top. Last year me 3: mice 0. Same score this year.
