I know there is a higher fee at the border for newer vehicles. I also read somewhere that the rules have changed so you can bring in the newer vehicles but don't quote me on that.

The only problem I had heard was the bumpers not meeting cnd standards.

As of Sep 1, 2009 the Cdn bumper standards match those of the US & Europe. This means you can import a GTO GXP which previously didn't meet Cdn standards. Also means that if it's good for the US then it's good to bring into Canada.

Makes sense. When I had my RIV inspection done at Cnd tire they had a guy who brought in a black GTO. I guess the thing caught fire!

Its been sitting in Canadian tire for almost two months waiting for parts!

Not the worst process I've ever seen - but there's a lot of places that could really get you screwed up.

You must have some crappy weather up near TO... It's nice here- the roads are dry - and this car is WAY too much fun to drive to keep it parked!
