In the market for a new floor jack. I like the low profile style jacks that harbour freight sells. The only problem is they weight to much and im sure shipping would be a fortune. Where can i get something like this in the Toronto area for a good price. Thanks guy
I may be going to CBI this Satuday and if I do was thinking about going to harbour freight tools in Buffalo. They have the Jacks on sale I think for like $60! I'll double check the magazine ad but I wanted to get one for myself. They are only I heard about 15 minutes from the border so I am going to possibly look them up. Otherwise will grab one from Princess Auto.
It has a 7000lb capacity, and it has a superior lift range of 4" min to 21" max. height, taking only 8 pumps to full service height. The jack in the link above only goes to 14.75".

I bought the one from HF - $60 with their coupon which appears in a lot of car mags.
A lot of guys on the forum complain it is cheap (made in China) and that parts might be hard to come by, but I have to say the aluminum construction looks very good. If you only need a jack a few times a year this is pretty good value...
My jack is at 4.5" and it does not fit under my lowered car. I drive the car onto a piece of concrete that is about 2" thick to get the jack under it. I'd think a 4" min jack would be a close fit too but a 3.5" jack would fit most lowered C5's. My car is on jack stands right now so I can't measure it.
If you are only going to use the jack a few times a year the Princess auto one should be ok. I bought mine last year for 65.00 and is now used for spare parts. As with everything the whole product is as strong as its weakest link. There are very cheap parts on it and it did break on me... .keep in mind that that I jack up my car to switch out wheels 50 times a year. The one Bruce showed is a better bet for garage or shop use, but I wanted a lighter one because I take it to the track so I have the smaller HF one and no issues so far.

That's the good one. I have the Cdn Tire branded one and it works great.

I agree with you. I have used the harbor freight jack its good; and at that price you can afford to use it and when it breaks eventually, toss it and get another one! its kinda like buying printers is cheaper than buying ink... one of those things.....
i have 4 jacks and 1 from canadian tire same as princess auto Al 1.5 ton, used many many times with no problems. i like that jack its light weight, low profile and quick lift.
There's another one i saw at walmart its steel construction heavy but its low profile 3.5" to 14" lift and $56 2 ton, dont know if its quick lift though but looks good.
