headlights
How can we stop the headlights from coming on automatically? I have a 1998 C5. I just want to turn them on manually!

Will this effect anything else? Is this #44 fuse under the hood or under the dash?

I thought the fuse pull only works with 2000 and newer.

Its relay # 44 located behind the removable carpet piece at the front of the passenger foot well.
This will not effect any other functions.
You will now have to turn your headlights manually.

If you have the US based C5, you can turn them off with the Twilight Sentinel option in the DIC as well.

Yup, that's what I do. Sometimes though I wonder why it's so dark out and then I remember to turn them on.
Didn't know until recently it was US only. Goes back to me thinking GM thinks Americans are smarter than us Canucks and can handle headlights on their own.

You can add a resistor to the sensor on top to the dash. I did this on my '00.

Thanks for the info. I will order one. If there are any others that need this part let me know a group order is quite a bit less in cost.
