OK, just did some searching out of curiosity and saw your post on RFD (I guess you're maymybonneliveforevr).

What size tiles you putting down and how bad is the floor?

Maymyvette, Maymybonne, easy to figure out huh.

I'm laying 12" x 18" wall tile and while installing the kerdi I had to use a small putty knife to get air out in many places so the wall isn't what I would call a flat surface now. That and the fact that I applied mesh cement board seams.....well to make a long story short I'm concerned about lippage. I need the aid of a leveling system and find the TLS or equivalent a bit too expensive for the diy'er.

I didn't explain what lash level system was since those that don't know wouldn't be able to tell me where to purchase them.

Thanks for the reply Steve, I believe I found someone is Mississauga, I hope they return my call.

I've done 18x18 travertine in my bathroom. I didn't use any levelling system to get the tiles to sit flat. I used a 1/2" notch trowel for the thinset and back buttered them when needed to get them all to sit flat. The wall was easier and I also had cement board where I meshed the seams. The floor has heat wires in it. I didn't know about levelling systems which is why I didn't go that route. I did read that the LASH system is hard on the fingers though.

Yes I've also read they're hard on the hands so I've already got a rubber hammer to ease the possibility of my hands getting sore. I was pretty good level wise until I ran into a bit of problem with the schluter kerdi, that messed me up a bit and now I need to find a leveling system to help out. I'm going with the 1/4" notch trowel and also back butter with versabond. I've got lots of holes to cut in tile so this isn't going to be fun. I'll give you kudo's for not getting lippage, I've always had a problem with that, can't seem to get the hang of it.

I found someone in Mississauga that has the lash system so I'll probably go tomorrow.

I'm going to be putting up the ledger and pre cutting a few tiles, wish me luck on the tile install this weekend.
