Driving southbound on the 410 today at @ 8:05 am, I spot a red, what appears to be a 61/62 going northbound.. but wait, the proportions where way off.. the mid section looked more like a C5, so either the Tim's coffee hadn't set in yet, or my eyes were deceiving me.
Is there a C5 kicking around this city with a 61/62 front/rear end ? I don't recall ever seeing one like that before
[QUOTE=Maymyvetteliveforevr;1578624570]The only red multi year corvette in our area that comes to mid is the one pictured below, but it's a C3-C5 Vette. Actually it's listed as a 75'
Nope.... had the quad round headlights and 'boat tail' rear end.

Yup. See it almost everyday in the parking garage at work.
It's not too bad when you get up close to it. But i agree, the proportions are all off to what we're used to on a early C2.

That looks like it could have been it... never seen one before. If the owner had just cause to be heading north on the 410 this morning, then it could have been the exact one I saw.
Much as I believe everyone is entitled to their own expression of design and what appears to be decent craftsmanship, X3.
IMHO for the same effort and money you could have a really nice restomod using the older platforms, with the end result delivering equal to better performance but maintaining value and respect.
To each his own but I don't think I'd even want to be seen riding in one of these.

X4, not into Frankenvettes but as you said to each his or her own.

If you want a newer Vette, get the C5. If you want an older Vette, get the C3. If you want an older Vette that drives like a newer Vette then build the resto-mod with the C5 suspension/drivetrain.
These two don't work for me. Same thing as turning a Fiero into a Ferrari.
I guess I better cancel my order for the Fawn Beige `62.
Not if it really IS a Fawn Beige '62, Gary.
Now that (the real thing) is an absolutely beautiful car piece of car design, and in one of the most complimentary colours too. Not half the driver my C2 is, and my C2 is not half the driver your C6 is, but still an FB 62 is something damned beautiful worth falling in love with.
i dunno, I kinda like it. looks longer, wider, sleeker and the rake on the windshield makes it look more aggressive.
I enjoy a good resto mod like the next guy but original body/frames are hard to find and a true tip top resto mod can easily creep into 6 figures when you want to get detailed and you need man hours on top of man hours. Plus, I would have a hard time using a resto mod as a daily driver, knowing that the retro panels can easily be replaced and sourced makes for some peace of mind with the C5 conversion.
How much would you guys estimate that conversion to cost?

That looks crazy...I would like to see what else they have done, do have more???
The C5 - C2 mod is pretty cool....the old stuff is always the best, but this is a great alternative...again, to each his/her own....it's just being different and creative...nothing wrong with that....
