Default 89 Days!

89 Days until Formula 1 Montreal -- It'll be my first time seeing F1 live, in person... Great seats, grandstand 34 -- inside the hairpin.

Should I bring earplugs? Are they really that loud?

Your gonna LOVE IT. Had basically the same seats last year, which was my first time as well.

You absolutely need hearing protection

Hehe, I always love when first timers ask that question

These cars are beyond loud, you will need proper hearing protection. Nothing better than a Formula one engine at full throttle going by at 10.000 RPMs. It makes your bone's shake and your face hurt from grinning.

Heh... Okay, so since you are both not my cousins - who normally pull my leg, I'll heed your advice.. I like my hearing Can't damn well wait.

Would the little orange foam pilons suffice - or need I get into something bigger / better / stronger / less louder?

The little sponge ones may be ok, depends on your sensitivity to noise. I'd take those as well as a ear muff set as a back up

One of my favourite F1 "things to do" is watch the face of an F1 spectator virgin during the practice laps, the formation lap, and the rolling start. I can think of nothing else that that will induce as abolutely the expressions from amazement to exhileration to pure pain. Definitely bring good industrial-strength ear plugs! I like the beeswax/gauze variety.
