I'll vent cause it's my turn , called to get my 04 vert insured with the new HAGERTY ins , well got home and listen to the message on my machine , that said" we only insure cars with an appraised value of 40k plus , and if my 04 was in that catergory it would only be over $1000 bucks a year" Thanks Hagerty you fit right in with the rest of canada ripping off Canadians
I'm paying $537 a year with an appraised value of 31K , please don't send any more of your magazines bragging about your insurance

Always on a lookout for better rates myself: does your "$537 per year" account for storing the car in winter, or is it a full annual rate for keeping it *on the road* for 12 months? Thx for the clarification. Cheers!

I cancel it at the end of Nov and switch to my snowmobile , but if I left it on it would not be much more according to my agent , I leave fire and theft on it . Ron

I have a different experience, I'm with Hagerty and find them excellent, pay 44/month with an agreed value of $70,000

I wish I could join in thisw discussion; but becasue I have only the Vette and no other car (the family DD is in the wifes name) I don't qualify for Hagerty or Silver Wheels. So my Vette is insured for about $700 for the season and another $35 bucks a year in the off season for fire theft and comp. And this is through a "perk" program with my employer.

Harrin is that a total of two vettes , if that's the case my 80 is insured with Lant, and has been for 14 yrs , so I'm just wondering , so my total appraisals would be 60k , Ron
Kindneyboy, that's not a bad price , mine was that last year and now with 4 cars at home I got somekind of a "fleet" discount that knocked off 35%

I spoke with the Lant folks down at the auto show as they were flashing around the Hagarty branding and they explained that Lant is now Hagarty.. so I was under the impression Lant was no longer around in the way they have been in the past.. regardless, I found them to restrictive years ago.

I'm with TD Home and Auto, so have the Home Owner discount and Multi Car Discount and am paying $686 for a full year (at agreed value of $12,000) , but it's really on the road fully for 6 or 7 months, so about $57 a month, and that drops to @ $10 a month when not on the road.

I've been with Lant a lot of years and my 80 is 237.00 a year , appraised at 28k , I'm real happy with that I only use the 04 on long trips and get away weekends so I did not mind paying more , but not over $1000 bucks . Weird insurance policies. Ron
