Project C5 - 427 LS7 Rat
We have started on the 1998 Corvette ragtop 427 LS7 RAT.
This project has turned into a real custom one off build .
Jim will for sure have one custom C5 .
I will do a build list later today .
We start by stripping down the drive train .

so you are saying Dasilvas modern "Rat" will perform like a Gen 1 sbc? Obviously kidding as we all know what 40 plus yrs of technology etc can do.
It's the Malibu build I am interested in. Have seen a few of these builds now. I love the modern engines in vintage cars but also prefer to see stacks, vintage valve covers (I think Holley has a vintage look valve cover for ls engines). I remember when dropping the LT1 with TBI was all the rage, now these engines just look dated and not in a good way. With the new Lt1 engine coming out I just wonder how long it will be until the ls series becomes the LT1.

The Malibu is currently having a new tube chassis and sheet metal fitted . It will be quite some time before it is back in our shop for the power plant and tuning as well as custom paint .
The 98 is also getting a complete Dasilva Motorsports 1 off paint job . We will be using a House Of Kolors base in black with Cyber Grey metalic and pearl clear . This should produce a stunning one os kind paint scheme
Dasilva Motorsports is very fortunate to have Steve McEwan paint our cars . Steve not only has an extensive paint back ground , but has been restoring and painting Corvette's along with custom hot-rods for over 30 years . Every car here is block water sanded and leaves with the high standard that Dasilva Motorsports is know for .
