Hi guys, was backing out of a parking space then pulling ahead slowly and active handling engaged. I stopped and the DIC went blank then started and it engaged again. I turned off the car then back on and things have been fine ever since. I had the recall work done a couple years back on the SWPS "clip". The car is a 2005 C6, no winters, no rain. Could be a glitch or maybe my SWPS is going bad. Similar experiences anyone? And yes I have read about posts with regard to "Service Active Handling" at speeds and SCARRY...Mine just said "Active Handling" as in engaged without any error codes.

My '10 GS is in dealer now to get the "service active handling" warning fixed. Warranty, but still didn't expect it. Unhooked battery to try and reset but didn't work. Drove it at high speeds with no ill effects but it did go a little squirrelly when I really pushed it from a standstill. Didn't realise it was a common issue. I'll look it up on CF when I get home tonight.
I have seen it a few times over the years after some wheel spin. No issues after restart.
Dealer, Ontario Motor Sales, in Oshawa, has ordered the part to repair my problem. Apparently mine had a faulty Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Ring that has gone wonky and dealer insists it's dangerous to drive like this. My DIC said "Service Active Handling". Looking athe Forum this is not such a rare problem. Generally not found in newer cars though from what I can see. BTW my warning did not turn off after restarts and also pulling battery cable off and re-installing.
No "Service" with mine...just "active handling" engaged....think I may have had some wheel spin in a tight slow turn that threw off a yah sensor....took it out and did donuts in a parking lot...hard left...hard right and could not get it to engage again...I also wonder about battery levels, car had been sitting for many days without use....usually leave it on the trickle charger and had not bothered plugging it in....noticed back in 08 when I changed the battery last odd things were coming up due to low voltages that all went away with a new battery...the fun of electronics!!!
good luck with this one.. this was my major problem with my c6 causing me to get rid of it.. noone could figure out the damn issue.. i had the exact same prob

Well. All I can say is that mine is still at the dealer. Over a week now, and as I'm going away on a bike trip early tomorrow morning for the weekend, I definitely won't have it back before next week. Dealer says that the part to fix was not available in North America and he wasn't sure where it was being sourced from. Seems to be getting more complicated all the time. Sure is a PITA!
I thought Active Handling is suppose to turn on when you corner really hard... I have an 05 C6 Vette and when I floor it and the car fish tails a bit, the Active Handling turns on and straightens it out. Other than that, AH never really turns on for me at least.
