How sad. I heard a couple of weeks ago he checked into Re-Hab.
His publicist said he had been suffering from severe depression.
He was an amazing talent and nice guy.

Just last week I re-watched "Robin Williams -- Live at the Met". (circa mid 80's)
The baby birth skit is the best.
Doc. "congrtulation Mr Williams, its a Boy!"
RW. "OMG he's hung like a bear!"
Doc. (in a deep "matter of fact" voice) "That's the umbilical cord Mr Williams"
RW. (in a paniced voice, as only he could do) "What? Wait!, Don't cut that off, let him dream for awhile".
