You know, this was supposed to be a gtg at Yorkdale, a drive down Yonge, park in front of the Dome, maybe a drive through Yorkville, grab a hot dog, and then drive home 2-3 hours max. Switch it up a bit by driving Bayview and Rosedale. Grabbing a pizza or hamburger instead of a hot dog. And over the last couple of years, we've had to adjust further because of the G20 Summit, and the Pan-Am games just to name a couple. We've found other places to go which are now starting to get innaccessible because of road works/construction, etc. And now it's become this. zzzzzzzzzzzzz. I guess after 8 years, it was bound to happen.
Yes Yonge St is bad to drive on. Yes there is construction and road closures all over the place. Yes by the time we get downtown, events are just getting out and we get stuck in traffic for what seems like hours at a time. Yes we hate to pay for parking for the little time we stay and yes we hate the parking cops.
Circue de Solei is at the ACC tonight. The Ex is still in full swing. Luckily, the Jays are off tonight. So downtown will be a mess, but I'm game if you are.

Hope to make it tonight Stan. I am just happy going wherever with the group...the fun is both the drive, eats, but more importantly the company. If the route doesn't satisfy everyone do what I do...go for a pre-/post- cruise drive wherever you want to go. Let's not hassle the guy who is organizing something for our mutual enjoyment.
Cheers,

My $.02.....I can't always make these gtg's due to continuing health issues but the HDR is still the most fun cruise of the summer and it happens every week. I would prefer it to be down Yonge St. as I think it's just way cool to be in a line of Vettes making noise and rumbling through downtown. I know that during the games etc we have to plan alternate routes but for me personally driving an hour, in the opposite direction from home, on the highway (I really hate the highway ) to have a burger and then drive home is not my idea of fun.
Anyway I intend to be there tonight.

Randy, put down the pipe buddy.
Stan, we highly value you and I know it's impossible to please everyone.
I'm fine with pretty much wherever we end up.
See youse tonight!

and people. I wasnt critisizing Randy.
Was just stating how we started out and how far we've come in 8 years, that it was inevitible someone would find the cruise boring.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Started off so simple and has grown.

The cruise is NEVER boring, I'm with Mike, the HDRs are consistantly the funnest cruises there is!
If Randy is bored, perhaps its because he cruises by himself because he never waits when some of us get stuck at red lights and is half finished his burger by the time the pack gets there.
Randy, it's a CRUISE, NOT a race.
Don't worry Randy, we still love you!

What a beautiful night for a cruise. Not a drop of rain the whole evening from top to bottom and back to the top of the city. Was a great cruise boys and girls.
