Use a zip code for the closest town across your border in Canada.
You will have to post that your car is a Canadian Car, so potential buyers know they have to get paperwork etc. to get the car into the USA.
Just make sure you know all the rules of exporting a car, or in the buyer case, importing a car so you can answer their questions.

It's great if you can sell it to a US buyer, because of our exchange rate. You should be able to get at least 25% more Canadian than from a Canadian sale if you ask for US $$

Autotrader.com would also be a good place to put an ad.

You have received some good advice. You might also want to consider Bring a Trailer http://bringatrailer.com/auctions/ .

I will be selling a car in the spring, not my Vette, and after a lot of research I will be using BAT.

You might also want to consider Hemmings. If it is a Vette I would use the forum classifieds.

BAT looks very interesting. If I list it I'll be sure to get you the $100 referral.

I would sell it to a dealer across the border to avoid the hassles, did you check that option?

Let me know how your ad is received.

I'm thinking of selling my Z06 in the USA this spring. In my case, I actually drove my car to Toronto so at least I'll be close to Buffalo which is far more vibrant than say, Sweetgrass Montana.

My car was imported from the USA so it's ironic that it's going back home.

With the US Speedo and gauges, you probably have a little better chance of selling it in the US, but maybe that means nothing.
I also imported my C6 from the USA in 2009 when their economy was in shambles and toys were getting sold off.
I got a great deal on the C6, so much so that 4 years later, I still could get what I paid for it.

Same here. I bought my Z06 when our dollar was worth more than the US.

A far cry from our dollar of today but we can still take advantage of that by selling to the US. My Ebay account is going crazy!

My car is in AZ for the winter and I had a similar thought. I'll be down there to pick it up in 6 weeks and I'll stop in at a dealer and see if they are interested.

Look up the area code for the closet town across the border from Coots AB, we use 98230 on the coast, it is Blaine wash.
Forget about what you want, do some research on CL, Seattle, Spokane and Portland as to the going price in Us funds. Be careful.
You can also list it on CL by punching in the area code that you find just across the border.
Good luck.
