Show's are getting pretty dull these days. No more WOW factor for anything IMO. I've started to skip a year or 2 and then go.

Only good thing with the show is that it gives us a chance to sit in a car (most of them anyways) if we are contemplating buying something. Other than that.....Might have been worth going to, to check out the new mid engine C8, even if it would be behind a rope and out of reach but alas, it won't make it's first showing in North America, but rather somewhere in Europe, which I find strange that they would do that.

Last year was the first I’ve gone in 10years and really enjoyed it. I’m thinking every 2-3 years I’ll be going. Going every year gets boring and seems like your always seeing the same cars.

I would like to go this year though to see the 2020 Toyota Supra!

I agree withy you Stan, the whole presentation, or lack there of, is not as appealing as it was "back in the day".

I'm looking forward to the debut of this car too, it's a long time coming; hope there isn't any glitches with bringing it here.

Agree that there is not much to get excited about anymore at the Toronto show.

I stopped going annually when they decided a $80K car is too expensive to let you sit in.

I have gone to this show with my son every year since he was little, and now he's 17 and has his own car (a 2002 WRX) Hopefully he isn't too busy to join his dad this year!

Hey Pat, I think as long as you both share the same interest, you'll go to the show for years to come.

I sure hope so! Since he got his car he's been working so many hours to pay for it that I've hardly seen him (he lives in Orangeville with my ex wife)

Nice Pat. Nothing better than a father and son bonding over cars. WRX is a perfect teen car.

I might go, could need a new car (C6 is 12 years old now) and don't know what to get.

I've gone for the past 5 years and do enjoy the show. But one think I cannot stand is the hoardes of people. I don't think they limit the amount of attendees. I have been going on weekends in previous years, but this year I will try on the weekday and see if it helps in terms of the crowds.

It also helps if you go first thing in the morning. I usually arrive 30 minutes before the doors open in the South Conference Centre first as that is the larger venue and am usually one of the first in line. Also helps to buy your tickets online so there's no waiting when you finally get in. Just show your printed ticket/email and you're in.

But I do miss the Dome. Ever since they stopped using it, it has always felt something has been missing from the show.

Just like Stan just said, I arrive first thing in the morning on a weekend too. If they advertise the doors open at 10:30, they'll actually open at 10, so if you're there at that time you can get through the show before the massive crowds will arrive. I head down to the exotic car area first, as that's the busiest section later on. If you don't linger too long at any one area, you can see the entire show in about 2 hours and it's only by the end of that time the crowds are really getting bigger.

Oh I remember. But do you remember when it used to be at the Automotive Building at the Ex? Show got bigger, outgrowing the space. The IC was a lot smaller back in those days.

I totally remember that, as my dad used to take me to the show there when I was a kid. I still have pictures that I took from the show in 1981, including the all new Datsun 280ZX (which my mom would end up buying that year)
