This "winter" has sucked, to be quite honest!! I've turned ZERO miles on my snowmobile, and this is the state of my car right now!! (...valve guides fried, haven't driven since ~September).
If the car was running, I could have driven it almost all winter!?! I used to drive my '02 Camaro year-round when I first had it.
Looking forward to spring/summer and maybe a real winter NEXT YEAR!!!
Thanks! It's getting heads, cam, and a bunch of other "stuff" ............... aiming for "reliability" but apparently there could be some side-effect "performance" to go along with it!!
With the warmer than usual winter we've enjoyed and the lack of snow is anyone thinking of getting their cars on the road earlier this year?
They still dropped a lot of brine on the roads, so the vette is not going out any time soon....at least not until the rains come and wash it all away.
Since the next thing I want to do with my car is rebuild the engine, and I have my daughters wedding to help pay for, not much is going to happen with the car this year.
My vette turns 50.this year!!!!
I'm actually more interested in upgrading my Side-by-Side. That one doesn't care about brine....lol

Same rule as every other year; as soon as I see steady forecast of daily temps above 7 degrees, it comes out of storage.
My storage unit is paid to March 31st but I bought a new house with a 2 car garage in November and we moved in last month. So I will likely be fetching the Z06 from storage next weekend and then I will be able to take it out on nice days more easily going forward.
After this frigid weekend it looks like the temps are going to be above freezing for the next little while.
Not sure why this winter in particular but I really miss driving the Vette. I'm thinking the 2nd or 3rd week of March.
This winter has sucked. I'm use to snowmobiling 5-6k per winter and haven't been out yet this year. Son's hockey should be done within the next couple weeks so hopefully get a big snowfall before spring. Vette is tucked away and probably won't see much use before the Hot Rod Power Tour in June.

How can I find out more about the Hot Rod Tour? Dates, how to attend? etc...

If you go to Hot Rod's website they have a bunch of information on there. https://www.motortrend.com/events/ho...-announcement/ I've been going since 2011, missed the two Covid years. Basically sign up for the tour, I always long haul, book some hotel rooms and you'll find tons of like minded people along the way. First year I went met some guys from Iowa and have been good friends ever since.

id love to go, how do you figure what hotels to book for each night and what location?
The mega rainstorm the other day washed the roads clean but the drop in temperatures brought out another dose of salt on the roads, so we wait for another rainstorm I guess.

I look at the venue location and try to get something close. The more Power Tour participants at the hotel the more fun it is. Been at a few hotels were there were trophies for the best burnouts, management wasn't pleased! Last year I booked late so waited till the driving route was out. I ended up booking a town ahead and waited in the morning till the crowd rolled through and then joined in.
