Default How do you measure progress?

I'm wondering what techniques everyone uses to check their progress while in the process of polishing etc.? I find checking my progress even in a well lighted garage, hit or miss. I'm always bending low looking at an angle trying to see any imperfections swirls etc. Sometime when I finally drive the vette outside into the daylight I'm not always satisfied with the results. Any secrets?

I check my progress by doing the best job I can and then checking it out in daylight from different angles. I've found that the angle of the late afternoon sun has a way of exposing all the flaws in your wax job.

If you can pass the "late afternoon sun test," then it'll look good in any other light.

I agree....artificial light will show every flaw. Sun light is much more forgiving. We all no that there are very few perfect finishes. Every car has a few swirls, dark cars just show them more!!
