Bug splat!
Two weeks after taking delivery of my Mag Red beauty I have noticed that the clearcoat on her nose is already eteched from freeway bug splats.
Washing and waxing has not removed it. You can't really see it unless you look at a very oblique angle in the sun, but they are there. A reall shame with such a deep, beautiful paint job. Anyone have any idea how, if any, you can remove the marks? Preventative maintenance? Maybe a wash after each freeway run?
Thanks
Chris

Xymol polish works for me. Tall light blue thin bottle. Protects also.

You should be able to get them out with 3M swirl remover. Then use Zaino to keep it from happening again.

anyone use pam?
I just had the 3M bra put on and the installer told me to use pam, wiped lightly with a rag, with the bra when planning a road trip. Claims bugs wll just slide off. I'm not sure about using it on the paint, but it shouldn't hurt the bra. anyone using pam?

Hey, CJ...How will the application of Zaino keep it from happening?

That is what I have used.
When you get it clean put a couple of coats of Zaino on it to protect it. The bugs come off much easier once Zaino is applied.

Zoltan;
I have to agree-Zymol is just terrific!! Have used it on all my Vettes, & now my C6. I know Zaino seems to be the preferred wax, but very pleased with Zymol!!
Just my 0.02cents.
Good Luck-Jerry

You may be etching the paint more from fine sand being kicked up from the road. I haven't seen bugs etching the paint.

With enough coats you can build up a nice protective layer thus keeping the juice from the bugs reaching the paint.
