While Zaino is good it's on the expensive side and it's mail order only. Try Meguiar's NXT products. It's at any auto parts store and IMHO just as good if not better than Zaino. Everyone here has their own preference. NXT is mine.

Here we go again !
Could be because my car is white, Zaino was no better than the others I've used.
Post in car care section or do a search on Zaino.
Good luck

Zaino is a "cult" product. It looks good but it has poor durability. That's why it needs 50 to 100 coats to work. By then it has a sicky yellowed look.

The only thing "superior" about Zaino is it's PRICE!

Hate to disagree, but Zaino does a great job, easy to apply and is rated excellent for durability. The down side is price and not available locally.

I never heard or experienced yellowing with Zaino.

Try it. You'll be pleased with the results.

wonder if it wouldn't be useful to create a sticky of faq's or "hall of fame" type threads that could be easily accessed for recurring topics???

Actually, it is not mail order only. I am the Zaino distributor in our state of TN, I travel over 2,000 miles a year working cars shows all over TN and KY. Just today, I had a customer drive to my house (50 mile round trip for him) to buy some Zaino products here, he just bought a 50,000 dollar black Ford Harley Davdison pick up and he used to have a black 330 BMW and Zaino is the ONLY thing that he will let touch any of his cars.

Just this month of April, I will be selling Zaino on site at the 350Z Attack car show in Nashville (Opry Mills) on April 16th, then I will be in Bowling Green at the NCM for the C6 Bash selling Zaino on site on April 21st, 22cd. and 23rd. I am proud to travel all over representing Zaino and helping others along the way.........

Honestly, I don't think you have ever used Zaino or you would not make such comments.

First off, no one has 20, 30, 50 or 100 coats of ANY product on their paint, thinking so is plain stupid. It may be true that a proud owner of a nice car might have Zainoed his car 20 times over a course of time, it is not possible to have that many layers of Zaino on the surface, cut off is around 3 or 4 coats. And in reality, most just use one coat and that is it, it takes a devoted loving car person to polish his car that many times, some do it for fun and relaxation.

And if you think Zaino has poor durability, then I know you have never used it...

And Zaino will not and can not yellow, that is ridiculous.

Zaino Bros'Show Car Polish is THE BEST as reported by Guru Reports Magazine which has published `The Car Wax Test Special Report." Forty-six of North America's most popular car polish/wax products were tested. People were surprised that the best Mothers and Meguiar's have to offer, finished 8th and 18th respectively. Zaino had a grade of A- & a GPA [Grade Point Average] of 3.53 out of 4. Mothers was B- & a 2.52 and Meguiar's was C+ & a 2.37

Guru Reports conducts comprehensive tests of automotive related products and compiles the results into easy to use Special Reports. Guru Reports has a very strict no advertising policy to assure complete integrity and unbiased results from their tests.

Guru Reports is published by Jump Media Group, Inc. Founded in 1997, Jump Media Group ("JMG") publishes Club RoadflyT (roadfly.org), "The world's largest auto enthusiast web site" and Guru ReportsT, magazine style, Special Reports. See www.gurureports.org.

As with many products, Zaino has some definite +s and some potential -s. Here is my view and then my take on Guru Reports since it was reported above as if it was the bible on detailing.

Positives -- Superior Durability (length of protection) , optically pure, very reflective , attractive boutique pricing, layerability

Negatives -- Curing/Bonding (need for ZFX or Z1) , No polish / chemical or abrasive for paint cleaning /prep in line, last stage product only, and previous versions had a highly plastic look to it (original Z2 and Z5).

As for the Guru Reports, while clearly a good source of information it was compiled several years ago and most products tested have been modified or upgraded (including Zaino) and new products issued. Also the panels used for testing were "extremely similar" but were pulled from a junkyard and each panel had different environmental abuses (acid rain, upkeep, neglect) as thus could have had differences based on where/when the car was for years leading up to its demise. Also all panels were prepped the same way without the benefit/detraction from the entire line of product being tested. Some waxes/sealants also received lower grading for availablity, and in modern times almost any product can be had with a credit card and a google search. Again a great read, and nice offering but clearly in need of further refinement and update.
