I just discovered tar on my coupe this afternoon. What do ya'll recommend to get this stuff off. Anything here in the house or a trip to the parts house to get the tar/sap remover? Thank you very much.
Try WD40. Spray it on. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. Wipe it off. Repeat with a little rubbing (an old toothbrush works well) if it doesn't come off the first time. Re-wax the area after the tar is gone.

Had the same Problem on my 55 Chevy Nomad. WD 40 took it off. I then sprayed the area with detailer and toweled it off. Then I waxed the area. No problem with that Viper Red paint in the affected area.

WD-40 is hard to beat, but I never thought about it for tar removal. I've been using either/or Gunk Bug and Tar remover, or Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remove. Funny, both of these sit right next to my can of WD-40.
