Default Waxes & Detailers

What's the best wax & detailer to use for the most reflective shine? I've been using Meguiar's Gold Class and now use their Tech Wax. For detailer I use Meguiar's Final Inspection (buy it by the gallon). For a 94 (Dark Red Metalic), it looks great. I wax twice a year (Spring & Fall) and only wash my car after it get's wet (which is rare) or if it gets real dirty.

It puts the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose again!!!

I've found that Zaino works best for me.

You will get a much better response if you post this in the general corvette section under car care products. There are tons of debates on what is best in there. I've been experimenting around with www.winnerscircledetailingproducts.com. The owner of the company Robert Regan has really been helpful to me and answered all my questions and emails almost immediately. I purchased a cyclo orbiting polisher from them along with several other glazes/polishes. The results have kicked azz and I recommend at least checking out their website. I'm in no way connected to them, just a happy customer, Al

Seriously though, I've found Meguires to be the best. Their new Tech Wax is easy to work with and builds a great gloss. Just avoid black magic: their waxes like to change composition at random. Oh yeah, Eagle One makes a sweet tire shine

I tried it on my other cars, but it doesn't seem to bring out the deep shine on lighter colors (silver Dodge and gold Olds) and didn't hold up as long as other waxes. I also think that it doesn't offer the protection that other waxes provide (I used to love Rain Dance on all my other cars until they stopped making it a few years ago). I think that Gold Class and Tech Wax are more for shine than protection but they are so easy to use and really bring out the deep shine.

Everyone has their own opinion....
For wax Pinnacle Souveran
For a synthetic wax (sealer) there is Klass AIO, Meguiars NXT , Mothers Poorboys, Reflections, Rejex, Zaino, Zymol take your pick.

I am a Rejex fan

I like Meguiars Gold Class and NXT. The NXT is a bit harder to remove, IMO, but I'll use it anyway.

I've tried a number of waxes.
I just bought Zaino and I now have 3 coats. My car is silver, but the zaino worked really well.
I am going to stick with it for a while.

Another vote for Zaino -- Tried many of the others, but for me Zaino gives the best, deepest, longest lasting shine. People have come up to me weeks after the last application and asked if I wax her every weekend (and I drive her to work just about every day)

I have tried numerous products over the years, but Zaino is the best I have used. Easy on and easy off.

Has anyone tried clay as the prep procedure before waxing. I will clay (Griot's) first (as I wash and rinse), one coat of NXT ( let it set for a day or two) and the final coat of Griot's Carnauba. The shine is as good as any detail work and the Carnauba is a hard wax. The claying makes it easier to get the wax off and the surface is as slick as glass. As a follow-up I will use Gold Class car wash. It almost smells like shampoo. I have never used Griot's Best of Show wax, If anyone has, let me know how it was.

clay bar is a definite for prep.
my vote goes to zaino, out of everything ive used over the years it has produced the best results. I do plan on trying pinnacle souveran though soon just to try it and see.

Each line of waxes, sealants, QD's and even car-washes can be different than the competitors. Learn their weaknesses and their benefits and use what "you" like in the end. One hint, usually staying within the line (so using the same QD as wax or sealant) usually provides the best look. Their are usually manufactured and designed to work well together.

Judge for yourself ...

I think it gives it plenty of depth
