I own two corvettes. Both are white. Each time I wax I seem to end up with swirls. I've tried a "swirl remover" that I purchased at Pep Boys, with no luck. I know the last time I waxed my '87, the car was in the sun. Does this make a difference? It it better to use a spray wax or a hard wax? thanks for any advice you can lend.
I suggest that you Post in the car care section under General Corvette area.
There are a number of professional detailers that hang out there and can advise appropriately.
Generally if you have swirls, you need a random orbital polisher with appropriate cutting pads and a compound or polish( depending on degree of severity)
If they get worse each time you wax... you must be using the wrong applicator and or cloth type to apply and remove the wax
OK. I had similar problems with my car when I first got it (bought it used 1 year ago). I now use the Zaino products, specifically Z5 (swirl remover) with the additive they provide. Several coats (3-4) has significantly removed the swirls..... also they now have a newer product to help remove swirls. I like the Zaino products. try them out. zainobros.com I think.

I use ZAINO prods. and yes it does help, but that all depends on how deep the lines are in the clear. This is why others mentioned a wheel, for some lines it is nessessary (at least 2 step process, last one w/swirl mark remover), some can be removed w/scratch-x, again depends how deep.
Regardless, the body should be prepared first (lines removed then washed w/dawn or similar that removes any extra product, waxes etc.) before appling zaino or any product if you are going for the flawless look.
