Default Zaino Claybar Question???

I have a little problem with the yellow claybar..

The old stuff (At least a year ago) I used to use was very plasticy.. sort of like very stiff silly putty.. the new stuff is very modeling clay like… It seems I have to work much harder to get it to remove contaminants, plus it disintegrates too easily.

Same color as before... But Very different consistencies….

I have emailed Sal about it.. But I guess he is a little busy right now.. Hopefully I will hear from him soon..

What are you using for lube? I typically use a mixture of Z7 and water in an old z6 bottle.

I have used many of Zaino's bars since 2000 and haven't really seen a difference.

I have tried several different brands of clay. My favorite brand is Clay Magic. My least liked clay is Meguiar's....it's not easy to work with, as is the the Clay Magic. Just my $.02.

Trust me.. It's different.. If I pulled the old stuff.. I could stretch it 2 feet across.. The only way to break it was to pull fast..

This new stuff if exactly like modeling clay.. you can pull it but it does not stretch much at all before it just breaks..

Oh yeah, I use Z6 for a lube..

There are only a few manufactures of clay that everybody gets it from. I have not seen much change at all in clay over the years. Zaino sells one of the best clays out there IMHO.

You would also be better off calling Sal, you wil definetly get an answer sooner, I imagine he must get thousands of emails a day.

Ok.. Then since nobody has seen a change....

what type you seem to Consistently get???

The Modeling Clay kind?
The Silly Putty kind?

I have ONLY used Zaino Clay, the original Yellow kind I used to use could be pulled until it stretched like 2 feet....
Very stringy when you pulled it..

Ok that is the type I am used to seeing... Silly putty... Plasticy..... NOT actually CLAY like..

In fact..one htis I remember about it.. when it's cool outside.. The stuff is a monster to fold over until it get warm in your hand.. But it worked Better!

This new stuff.. Hot or cold... you can mash it easily with your fingers..

Any more response??

Did you possibly get a defect? Maybe they'll allow you to return it for an exchange.

No it's definitely not a defect.. It is just different... They both worked GREAT just different consistencies..

So I called Sal today... He explained to me that it IS different than the version I had..

He did that to make it easier to use.. The new stuff is more pliable making it easier to fold over..

Thanks Sal
