But it's a polish, not a wax.

I use Meguiars Medialian made for Mirror Glaze. Comes in a black bottle. I used it for years on my 87 Buick Grand National. If it can make GM's old style black paint look good, it will make any new paints look awesome. It is on all out DD's and it lasts much longer than the other brands. My 03 mn6 has only been waxed with this for 2 1/2 years. Easy on and off, then go have fun driving.

If you seriously want the best....
Then check out the Car care section. It is the last section in the General Corvette Topics area

A number of professional and amateur detailers hang out there... and you will find a lot of discussion and debate on this exact question....

What you will find is that it is 85 % surface preparation. 10% product and 5% subjective...
Different products give your different levels of shine, reflection, depth of color, wetness and durability. Despite what anyone tries to tell you ...There is no one product that gives it all.

What is best for you may not be best for me...
You may love spending the day prepping and using 5 different products by the zame manufacturer
The guy next door just wants to put Turtle wax in the wash water..

You may want reflectivity so it looks like a mirror but lacks warmth, depth of color and the wet look...
and then there is durability....once a week, once a month, once a year

Generally Carnuba waxes score high in warmth and shine but low on durability

Pinnacle Souverain wax seems to get the most votes for wax

Paint sealants score high on durability and reflectivity but get criticized for lack of depth, warmth ...
Meguiars NXT gets high scores as on over the counter retail sealant
There are a lot of members using Zaino available only thru the internet.
One of the newer products getting an lot of attention and posts is Rejex. (It is my favorite)

But there are many products each with their own cult following. Who will defend their choice with religious zeal ( hence nicknames like Zaino Zealots, Meguiars Mavens, Poorboys Posse, etc)

You need to read a number of posts, see the proud photos, decide what you want and try a few products

To get you started on techniques check out

www.bettercarcare.com
www.properautocare.com

they both ahave some very informative instructional articles.

try it... may be you will like it....

Rich

Congrats on the new car! When it comes to polish, if you ask 25 people, you'll probably get 24 different answers. It all comes down to how much you want to spend. If you want something readily available from most auto stores, Meguiar's NXT is a safe bet. I used it on my black '98 for most of the summer and it was fine. Not very durable though. Carnuba worked well, but didn't provide the reflectivity that I wanted (carnuba is great for depth.) I finally tried the Zaino Z2pro/Z8 combo, and the paint really pops! A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Over on the car care forum lots of folks speak highly of Rejex. The pics that have been posted from the Rejex users are amazing! You can always go to a car show and ask what they use. Good luck!
