You shouldn't discount high quality microfiber.

Default Use a leaf blower like Toro

Then you won't even have to touch the car.

Zane...I totally agree, that's why I put in the cheaper microfiber part. I just found with some good 100 percent cotton towels I had less issues. And I like seeing the look on my GF's face when I cut those new towels up....

Now, I know this will sound crazy to a lot of people but this really works. If you want to keep dust off of your car when it sits in the garage for extended periods of time, it must be statically discharged. And the way to do that is to attach a coat hanger to one of your tail pipes and let it hang down enough to touch your garage floor. That grounds the vehicle and truly reduces dust dramatically! Weird!

CRVETTE

P.S. Remember to take the hanger off before you drive off.

I agree. My microfiber craze lasted about 2 months. Then I woke up and saw that every time MF touches my car it leaves scratches. Just use 100% cotton bath towels, cut up with a scissors to convenient detailing cloth size. Cotton is the way to go.

What kind of towels are you using, and how are you caring for them?
I agree and have found that if I leave my towels in the dryer too long the towels get static. Now I pull them out when they are slightly damp and let them air dry.

Problem solved.
