Ready to apply Z-1, but......
I thought I read somewhere here that you should apply a little Z-6 to the applicator before putting on the Z-1. Is this true?
thanks

Allen, You can apply a little Z-6 when putting it on so you don't apply with a dry applicator. Make sure you don't make it to wet as to leave any spots.

OK, Z-1 is on.
But really tough to tell where it is on, due partly to color and a hazy day. I assume when I apply the first coat of Z-5 I also dampen the application pad with Z-6.....

Allen, Yes it is tough to see where you apply the Z-1 with that color car.. as far as Z-5, same thing dampen applicator pad with Z-6 (you can use more this time) I then put a line down the middle of the pad less than 1/4 wide then i rub it into the pad with my finger. Top of car go from front to back, sides go up and down.

Yeah, that is what I did. Car is done (at least this part). Tomorrow when I get home from work I will remove it with the 'approved' towels, and then spray it down with Z-6 and then another coat of Z-5.
This is a lot of work!

Allen, It will get easier as you go. The results are well worth the effort  . Z-2 and Z-5 go on and come off with ease. You will love the way the car looks

I would not wet the applicator for the use of Z-1, only for Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5. You can just use a little more Z-1 to wet the applicator, it too much water or Z-6 is applied to the Z-1 applicator it can leave water marks under the polish.

I also get better results with a dry pad only wetted with Z-1 like Carl, really not a lot of work, Zaino only has the extra step of Z-1 you only have to do once a year probably in your case, if you where using the Mothers or Meguiars system and where using it correctly you would have to do 2 steps before you got to the final step :cry

OK, thanks, but I already applied Z-1 with a moist applicator (Z-6), let it haze, then applied Z-5 with a moist applicator......are you suggesting that I need to go back and re-do the Z-1?

Re: Ready to apply Z-1, but...... (KLO)
Whew....had me going there for a moment......anyway, tomorrow evening I plan on removing the haze, then spraying Z-6 as directed (small areas and immediately remove with clean towel), then applying another coat of Z-5.
My plan is to apply 3 to 5 coats of Z-5, then switch to Z-2 for about 3 coats. This sound about right?
Thanks.

Allen,
Like I said in the first post, as long as you don't get water spots you are fine. Thats why I suggest very little Z-6 for the Z-1. Don't worry about that your fine.
If you don't have swirl marks or scratches you don't need so many coats of Z-5. Use it until you are satisfied with the results. Then go to Z-2 for the deep, wet shine. You can go back and forth if you like also. One coat of 5 one of 2 etc.
