Ok... I am brand new to the whole carring about my car thing.
I have not waxed a vehicle since 1990. Thats right over 15 years.
I've have always had nice cars but have never felt like i needed to keep them in showroom shape.

The vette is diferent. I now have a strong desire to keep it looking amazing.

I have read some of the car care tips but i really dont know what to do or where to get started.

FYI car is 1998 Red

We've tried to make it easy to understand, and easy for you to spend as much time as needed in a specific area of car detailing. Hopefully it helps the beginnner, novice, and even pro with some hints.

The basics are to wash, to clay, to polish, to protect, and to dress the car on the exterior. (the interior has steps also) For a beginner a good car care kit with all items included will help. I would suggest staying in the same car line until you get the results wanted. Then like most of us, you will venture into every line looking for the best of the best and also to try every new product. Its a bug.

I recommend the Poorboys Kit currently as it contains everything (comes with or without a buffer, although I highly suggest the buffer) and towels needed to keep your finish up and is extremely user friendly with awesome results on reds and blacks. ( Top notch kit would be the Souveran kit from Pinnacle) You will still need to find some clay, wash mitt, and some tire dressing but thats about it.

PM me offline as needed for additional hints on the interior (leather, glass, dash/doors, and carpet) as well as towel choice for drying (waffle weaves). Consider it an investment in your cars finish, and luckly we always offer an additional forum discount to help reduce the initial $$ outlayed on your Vette.

Killrs sticky at the top is good advice the only point I disagree on is the use of a terry towel I use them all the time. I also was them in softened water to keep them fresh. I replace them every 6 months or so
