I seem to remember reading here a suggestion to use playtex gloves for a better grip. Will they help? These bars are not cheap enough to drop and throw away
the claybar is not that slippery, its the darn lubrication. I would NOT use gloves as you will not feel the clay working both in areas needing addtl attention, and areas that you can glide over. I would highly suggest Pinnacles Poly Clay, as it comes in multiple pieces "just in case" you drop one though.
YOU want to feel the clay working, its really very easy.Just make sure you keep spraying your detail spray in the area you are working so the clay bar glides around.I USUALLY do a 3ft section at a time.I use mothers detailing spray.there are alot of good products out there,so your preference..Also keep kneeding the clay bar ,folding it so you keep getting a new surface.AND TH BOYS ARE RIGHT if you drop it chuck it............ Its alot cheaper getting another bar in comparison of getting a scratch..Remember its not that difficult just pay attention to what your doing.
To me they are not slippery but anything can be dropped.
To limit the exposure, I flatten the bar and turn up one edge of the so that if you put your hand flat on top of the bar, the turned up edge is between your thumb and index finger.
