Scratch repair
you know the basic rule - if your fingernail can go into the scratch, you can't buff it out. pretty much true.
something you might try to make them tolerable:
go to autozone and buy some colored wax. No, don't put it on the whole car, just use it to fill in the scratches. I have some red and black wax I have used for this purpose previously when I didn't want to spend $$ on a re-paint. The results aren't perfect, but you'll see it DOES pass the 2-foot test.
Also for one step better than this, I think touchup123 would greatly improve the look, so that you wouldn't notice from a couple of feet away. You should really give that a try -- I posted a review of my results recently, which you can find with a search, or check my web site, page 2
I think touchup123 is pretty fanstastic so far, though I cannot comment on durability. Again, you're only camouflaging the scratch or paint chip.
But for $40 it's worth a try, unless you're ready to fully re-paint.
