Default Question about using Rejex

Ok...I've been using Zaino pretty faithfully, but am curious to try Rejex just for kicks.

Question is...do I have to remove all the Zaino with a Dawn wash or whatever before using Rejex?

And once the Rejex is on...can I still use Zaino over it and vice versa or does it have to be exclusively one or the other?

Not sure how these two would "bond" together or whatever.

Sorry if this has been discussed...I didn't find anything in the search.

I've seen this on a Rejex site:

"RejeX can be used over existing wax; however, the duration of protection will be reduced as the softer underlying wax degrades comparatively quickly. There is no reason to wax over RejeX. As we’ve already said, RejeX leaves a shinier, longer-lasting finish than wax… and the wax can't adhere well to RejeX!"

So what about Zaino? And if you don't put anything over Rejex...what happens when you wanna deminish swirls with something like ZPC or Mequires Carnuba?

Well, I happened to have read on another board two guys who have done this, and highly recommended it. They applied Rejex over Zaino, and they liked it a lot. So, to answer your question, yes you can.

The use of the ZPC is not an issue because is a paint cleaner and swirl remover and it can be of a great benefit to both products. Wax on the other hand, is not recommended under sealant.

Zaino will not bond properly to other sealants/waxes, and Dawn won't remove Zaino. You'll need a light polish or a strong alcohol wipedown.

Using ZPC or any other paint polish will remove any wax or sealant along with light swirls/defects. Meguiar's Carnauba will not remove any defects.

Using Rejex over Zaino or vice versa won't allow you to truly evaluate the product.

Use them exclusively.

I tried using the z8 over Rejex and it not work well. It looked the same but the slickness was gone from the Rejex. I recommand using one product and not mixing them.

Ok...I'm curious to give it a shot...It seems like with Rejex...you just apply it once every few months and that's that.

Does it really stay as shiney as when you first apply it?

What do you do after each wash? Like with Zaino...after each wash a quick spray of Z6/Z8 really brings out the shine...

IF you have Rejex do you just not need any sort of quick detail at all?

Where can I buy?

Using Rejex doesn't eliminate the "need" for quick detailers, etc. They (CorosionX) just don't make any maintenance products.

Ok, I've decided to stick with Zaino...after reading all the comparisons...I think Zaino is more along the lines of what I like to do.

I think tomorrow I'm going to use my PC with Menzerna IP and FP to clean the paint off and remove as many swirls as I can...then I'll load up on the Z2 again...

thanks for the info...sticking with Zaino.

RejeX is a stand alone product.
So far rinsing with water, and wiping dried has worked nice for me. You can tell by the way the shammy glides it won't need QD. Having a QD would be nice to wipe away fingerprints, and things like that you want to do a quick wipe on. Right now, all I want is go at least 5-6 weeks before applying another coat. Then, I'd probably get a QD regardless.

Why you're backing out after coming this far?
I think with the Menzerna products you've got, this would be a good scenario to lay down some RejeX and tell us how it works for you.

come on guys... this ain't rocket science. I see no problem using Z6 or Z8 as a QD to Rejex.

Question for Zaino guys, I need more Zaino, I called the Zaino home office in NJ and left 2 messages on their voice mails, this was last week and still no call back. Where can I buy Zaino? I prefer to buy via the telephone not internet.

Thanks-

I actually like trying one product with the other and found that Zaino doesn't like other products..... for example I did one fender with Mothers paint cleaner and the other with ZPC... when I applied the Z2 it felt much slicker on the side polished with ZPC.

Rejex is starting to sound real good..... anybody know if they got a canadian distributor??

I have two coats of Rejex on one of my cars. It is extremely slick.

Will adding an another coat once in a while increase the shine and protection?

Yes it will. Like any product that layers, the intial layer will start to break down over time and applying a new one will give it additional protection.

Some users will apply MANY layers in a short period of time, while others will apply a few layers during the first application, then do a "maintenance" layer every month or two. It depends on your driving and environmental conditions on how long the initial treatment will last.
