Default Tricks or tips

I'm looking for some suggestions to keep my floor mats darker. My floor mats are black.
They're not too bad, but I don't think cleaning them will make them any darker, or would it?
What do you guys use or do to keep them looking dark?
Thx-Goose

I dont know about making them darker (other than fabric or carpet dye) but I would highly suggest Scothgarding them to help with fast cleaning.

Thanks. I did a search under carpet dye as you've mentioned, and I found what I was looking for. According to the product description, it won't make your carpet or in my case, floor mats stiff.

This may be overkill but I use the plastic protectors over the top of the regular floor mats when I'm driving. When I show the car, I just remove the plastic mats. The Lloyds that I have had in the car now for almost a year, look brand new. My total investment in the plastic protectors is something like $40.00.

I had a friend that mixed black carpet dye in a spray bottle and just misted his mats placed out on the grass. Let them dry out in the sun and it made a huge difference.

Do you have tinted windows ? That should help cut down on the sun light from bleaching them

Yes, carpet dye is what I found -in a spray bottle like you said- it's sold by Top of the Line. I'm getting my windows tinted this Summer.
Most of the fading is attributed to just regular wear by my shoes than it is from the elements. I'm going to try the dye product, and then upkeep with a repellent product to keep it from further wearing. Plastic protector is good to have handy if you're caught in a rain.
Thanks for the tips.

As Killr mentioned, Scotchguard is great. I use it on my Lloyds mats and they still look brand new
