you can safely use most cleaners and conditioners almost immediately. Only on high dollar exotics are the leathers cleaned/conditioned prior to delivery. Never seen a local dealer do more than a quick wipe as part of their "prep" and you cannot imagine the dirt/grime that can get into a new car prior to you taking delivery. (think sweaty truck driver, think sweaty lot boy, and you can only hope your salesmans Armani suit buffed up their misgivings)
On a new car how soon should a leather cleaner and conditioner be used?
In the summer I usually use a good conditioner such as LEXOL every month. After a couple times you will see the leather getting softer. Only use a clearner if it is really dirty. However, if you wipe them down with warm water and good soap you will have no problems. As far as a new car, I used it as soon as I purchased the car. Protection, protection is my moto.
On my Z06 I treat with leatherique twice a year and use Zaino Z9 and Z10 monthly and my seats are in perfect condition with 12,000 miles. Take a look ar some other vette seats with 12k on them and they show noticable wear.
On my DD which is a MB I just z9 and z10 every month but the leather in that car is super tough and seems to have a much thicker coating than the vettes.
