Have been using the California duster, however it leaves a wax residue, yes it has sat on newspapers for months still leaves wax. Found a micro fiber duster in the latest Griot's Garage issue. Cost $20 and it works great. #11236 if your are interested.
Hang in there! I found that the Cal duster works better and will stop leave a residue the more you use it. I've had mine for over a year and no residue and it works great.
I just bought a Mega Calif Duster and it works awesome after leaving it sit out on News Paper for about a week. Of course I only let the strands barely touch to pick up the dust and only use it on a cool surface.
Hey - thanks for the tip.
I've never had streaking nor residue from my CA duster - now 10 years old. But nice to know there's another option out there.
I have a friend that uses his cal duster frequently, and though I've never personally used one, I would think -judging by the way my friend uses his- that you're not supposed to use it laying the whole weight of the mop on the car. If you do this, it will transfer the wax onto the surface, and leave streaks. The way I've seen him doing it, is to just barely touch the car with it in short rapid strokes. He also does this after driving his, and vefore throwing the car cover on. HTH.
