I wax by hand, but I use a PC orbital buffer to polish out swirls, etc.

I use my rotary and PC ROB for paint correction only. I always apply my LSP's by hand.

youll waste far to much product, with not a difference in look. Take the time to add and remove wax/sealant by hand. Use the PC when needed for paint polishing.

What swirl remover do you use with the PC?

My go-to polishes are the Menzerna polishes. I also use Poorboy's, Einszett, etc.

The PC is great for a standard liquid or paste carnauba wax. For a while, I used the black (aka "grey") pad with Meguiars #26 carnauba on my wifes SUV. It makes the job go REALLY REALLY FAST, and spreads the wax nice and thin. Yep, it soaks into the pad, but that stuff wasn't expensive so I didn't care.

Last year I switched to Zaino, and so I never use the PC for that anymore . By the time I pull out the PC, extension cord, plug it in, attach the pad, I could be half way done with a coat of zaino. And you can really do it better by hand.

So my vote is :
  • standard over - the - counter carnauba : sure, use the PC, or even better, just use a $30 machine that you can buy at Wally World - that's just what they're made for
  • for any of the fancy sealants popular in here - do it by hand.

You'd also want to use an inexpensive, low-powered machine to apply carnauba wax if you have some bad shoulders or back, like most of us do. It really saves some effort with those products that take a little rubbing. But you'd never buy a $100 - $150 PC7424 just for that. Don't buy that machine unless you need to remove scratches or swirls.

Just my own thoughts.
