Factory wheels are polished and clearcoated, so you need to treat them just like your paint. Claying them and using a mild abrasive polish will help brighten them - make sure to keep a wax/sealant on them.
If you have a coat of Zaino on them that is the best they are going to look. If you are still not happy you are going to need to strip the clear and re-polish them to get any improvement. GM did not do the best polishing job on them.
But to go somewhere and have the wheels taken off and clear coat stripped and polished and then clearcoated again not to mention any damage to the wheels when the tires come off and the sensors!!!!!!!!!!!
I could go on and on and the bottom line is it's probably cheaper to just buy new after market wheels.

I disagree completely. The clearcoat on wheels is different and Zaino does nothing to remove swirls, just fills them in. If your problem is with the actually polishing of the metal itself, then yes, the only way to fix is to have the clear stripped and have the metal repolished. However, if you where happy with the factory polish and now have a slight haze on them, that is a problem with the clear coat no longer being clear (because of scratches and marring).
Use any techinque you like that removes (not fills in such as Zaino) swirls and marring on your clear coat and that should increase the clearity, allowing that metal to shine through again.
If l have to take the clear coat off and repolish them where would l go in the New Jersey/Pa area?
I would want them clearcoated again and my major concern is the idea of taking off the tires and sensors and then puttint them back on again. I don't want them worse then when l started.
And l would like to wait for them if possible and do you have any idea what they charge.
One more thing if l had to to try one more time to get them right on my own what would you do before l start the process of redoing them.
