What kind of wash mitt are you using ?

Are you rinsing the mitt out thoroughly between cleaning each panel ?

I use a sheepskin mitt myself on my black vehicles. I might be a little ****, but I had similar problems that you have so I do the following.

I do one panel at a time. I basically use one side of the mitt for half the panel, then flip it over for the other half. I give it a good rinsing between each panel.

What kind of soap are you using for your foam gun ? I've found from testing that some soaps work better than others for lubrication purposes. The 2 that I've been using the most are Top of the Line bubble bath and Zaino Z7.

Are you using the foam gun in conjunction with the two bucket method and grit guards?

Also, black is gonna show every thing all the time and it is a full time job keeping it looking perfect...

Probably one of the above providing you are using the proper methods.

2 LG Buckets, one for wheels and other for paint.

Wash from top/least dirty on down.

Not rubbing too hard.

Doing wheels seperate.

Rinse/flush finish well before washing...

You need to listen to Agent & ZaneO they know there stuff I finally got some menzerna IP and FP and did my black C6Z and finished off with Z5 & Z2 and man it's AWESOME. These two turned me on to these products and I could not be happier. Went to a small car show today and pretty much stold the show with my black Z.

What towels?

The 2-bucket method is one bucket with the normal soapy solution and another bucket with plain water to rinse the mitt between panels.

*I* include a third bucket with a seperate mitt for wheels, tires, and wells.

Get two 5 gallon buckets with gritguards on the bottom. Fill one with your favorite soap and water and one with just plain water. Use the foam gun to presoak the vehicle...

Then wash using the mitt dipped in the soap solution. Pick up ALOT of water on the mitt and kinda push some off the water out on the area your going to wash. Use ALOT of water/soap and wash a small section at a time. Flip the mitt once and wipe and other section. Then dunk the mitt in the clean water (you can drag it over the grit guard if you wish) to clean it, then pick up alot of solution again.

The single most important thing to do is pre-soak the car. Let that sit for a minute or two. Then a high spray rinse will get most of the grit off the car that can cause scratching. I always use the two bucket method starting at the top of the car and working my way down.

My 2 cents

I assume you do not mean the pre-soak to include the soap?

Foam Gun and One Bucket Method:

1. Fill one bucket with clean water, add grit gard if possible.
2. Fill Canister with soap/water and presoak the entire car w/ soapy mix
3. Spray mitt and respray each panel prior to washing, remember to wash in one direction, not in circles.
4. Wash out mitt in bucket after each panel (wash out bucket 1/2 way)
5. Do the entire car.
6. Take off gun, nozzle, and allow water to naturally flow off finish
7. Blow each panel starting at top and work down
8. Spritz each panel with Qd'er of choice while damp and then glide your towel (Guzzler) over the finish in same direction as mitt. Its additional lubricants will help to glide towel, and likely remove any minor spoting.

------

The ASR from Pinnacle has a steeper learning curve then Poorboys. As such you need to work it longer on the PC, and you need to spritz the pad to keep damp to work properly. If having a problem removing it after it cures (cloudy) then spritz with qd'er and remove while damp.

Default New BLACK Z06!!!

My one day old Z06 is awesome, but I'm nuts and OBSESDD with detailing my vette. Previously had a Spiral Gray C5 that I Zaino'd the he11 out of and I had excellent results with lots of Zaino and clean 100% cotton towels, (Cannon or Fieldcrest).

I haven't detailed the new BLACK Z06 yet, that'll happen this weekend but just wanted to hear some CF members opinions if I should stay the course with Zaino, Zaino and more Zaino!?

Grayson, search some of the post here. I have a Black vert and a Black Avalon. Two black cars are a PITA to keep clean. Using the information gained here I have not damaged either car yet "knock on wood". Like evreyone else here I'm **** about my car. I love the foam gun, that said. I make my car look like a bubble bath before I even touch it. The two bucket method is one of the best tips I have found here. Now that I have the foam gun, I use one bucket, and rinse the sheep skin wash mitt with the gun. I rinse both sides going from top to bottom and then side to side attempting to get any dirt or grime out of the mitt. I also use a different mitt to wash the bottom of the car. I hope my "little bit" can be a help.
