The owner's maual lists saddle soap as the treatment for a C6s leather interior.
Any comments about this from the forum detail members?
Saddle soap has been used for years and is a good product. Have used it myself, however I now use lexol which like saddle soap has been around a long time. Have never had a problem with either and will continue useing lexol. Give either a try. Just my .02.
"saddle soap", when used on saddles anyway, generally means a product that is used for cleaning.
Saddles get plenty dirty... After cleaning, a preservative or "treatment" is used to keep the leather soft, and pliable to prevent drying out and cracking in hot, dry conditions...or, to prevent mildew, mold, and bacteria, in wet conditions.
Saddle leather, generally, is thick, and tough...and usually absorbs leather conditioner readily...
Now, I don't know what the leather is like on a C6, but I'd be careful with some conditioners like Lexol...it's a good product, but if it's not absorbed into the leather, it will get on your clothes.
I guess my point is, if you are going to use a product that is designed for a tough, thick saddle...and apply it to a Corvette seat...apply sparingly
