Nice size (about 400 cars) Corvette show this weekend down at the local casino. I am putting the car up on the lawn for the show and wanted to get her all cleaned up. I wanted to get the engine bay all cleaned up too. What do you guys use to clean under the hood.
A light mist from the hose and a gentle cleaner(if needed), then start her up soon after to ensure a good drying off. Stay away from the battery/fuse area.

Start out as conservative as you can and work up to the more aggressive methods only if needed. I used to use Foamy Gunk and really liked it a lot. Definetly cover or tape some plastic shopping bags around things like the alternator and any sensitive electrical components and stay away from the battery area since your computer is under there.
Now that is some great engineering huh. Hey, thats put the computer and all of the electrical components under the battery and then we can sell some really cheap batteries that leak and we can make tons of money fixing these problem. Ah, huh huh huh, OK Butthead, that is a good idea.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are

Huh uh huh huh huhhh .... He said LEAK
Hey DJC - If you are really scared about the sensitive electronics, as I am, don't use any water in there. If I stay on it (and don't ignore the engine compartment for a year) I can get away with just using Simple Green spray and a T-shirt to wipe down everything I see. When it's all clean, I spray all black plastic and hoses with Stoner's Trim shine - it's fantastic to dress all these things -- just spray and walk away. No wiping needed.
